China's toy safety standard is GB6675 - 2003, the American standard is called ASTM F963, and the European standard is EN - 71. Among them, EN - 71 is the most frequently mentioned, including 11 parts, the most basic of which is the first 3 parts.
The first part: physical and mechanical tests. Is to protect children from physical harm. The physical damage detection of production materials used in toys, toys, packaging materials, toys, toy parts edge and cutting-edge accessories, toys and toy size assembly and the use of brochures and other aspects of detection.
The second part: Flammability test. The purpose is to protect children from fire. Especially for children's clothing, masks, paper supplies, plush toys and so on. Not only are these flammable toys, all toys, the European Union will conduct flammability tests. Should pass the quantitative numerical test in the laboratory. All incoming samples shall comply with this requirement.
The third part: the content test of harmful elements, including lead (Pb), barium (Ba), antimony (Sb), arsenic (As), cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), mercury (Hg), selenium (Se) and other 8 kinds of harmful elements. In 2012, it could increase to 19. The idea is to protect children from harmful (heavy metal) elements. The child's bodily functions are not yet fully developed, and harmful (heavy metals) elements can be very harmful to him or her. This part of the test is the most important, but also the most difficult to ignore because consumers can not distinguish between the naked eye.
